RURIKS GLACIER GIN - PREMIUM GIN FROM ICELAND
Footballer Rurik Gislason's famous from Let's Dance
In 2018, friends Fannar and Halli had the idea for Glacier Gin: a gin inspired by Icelandic glaciers. After Rurik Gislason returned from the World Cup, the two friends told Rurik about the idea of their gin. Footballer Rurik was enthusiastic about the idea and joined the company. Rurik's gin is not just a simple spirit, but comes with a serious message: it is meant to show what is threatening the glaciers due to global warming. According to experts, there will be no more glaciers on Iceland in 200 years. Rurik Gislason's gin is not only meant to stimulate the taste buds, but also to make you think.
Rurik's gin comes with several special features: The footballer's gin contains quite extraordinary water, which is extracted from the Eyjafjallajökull glacier. The Eyjafjallajökull glacier gained notoriety for bringing air traffic in Europe to a standstill in 2010 due to its eruptions. The glacier water contained in Fußballer Gin has a high pH value. This elevated pH is ideal for making the Premium Glacier Gin. What's more, the Lets Dance Gin has a stylish bottle to go with it: marked with the glaciers of Iceland.
The creation of Rurik's Glacier Gin
When developing the product, Rurik, Fannar and Halli had three goals in mind: to make the perfect gin for gin & tonic, to reduce the risk of a hangover in the morning and to design a stylish, matching bottle that you can perfectly put on your shelf.
After a year of product development, the unique Glacier Gin was launched and all three goals were met in the best possible way. In the Nordic spirit Glacier Gin, five delicious botanical ingredients were combined with pure Icelandic water from Eyjafjallajökull, a primeval glacier from the south of Iceland.
The heart of Glacier Gin is its pure Icelandic water, as Iceland is best known for its clean, unspoiled nature as well as its pure water. This makes the Nordic country the ideal location for producing the premium gin. The harmonious interaction with the unique Icelandic water has led to the choice of these five hand-picked botanicals, which make Glacier Gin so sensual: Juniper berries, coriander seeds, dandelion, lemon and bergamot.
